Kofu, 4am

Hayashi-san and I got up at 3.30am to catch our bus to the mountains. As he looked out the window, he said that it’s raining a bit. This was immediately met with a huge thunder clap. This did not bode well. We walked up to the bus stop and a wizened old bloke from Yamanashi Buslines warned of flash floods as the thunder continued. We decided to turn back. Our hiking trip made it the first 200 metres to the bus stop, and the pictures of last night’s national weather – flash floods and severe downpours – on the TV are reinforcing the decision not to go.

  1. guess it was back to bed again at that time, unless you had some washing to do.. i suppose there’s always next weekend 🙂

  2. Perhaps the typhoon season is really a tme for sitting in front of the airconditioner at home and watrching TV. At least you don’t have to get up so early!
