I did get to a mountain overlooking Kawaguchi-ko a month or so ago, and the views from there to Fuji were excellent when the cloud lifted, even though there weren't so many people out and about. I'll definitely keep the Fujiyoshida area in mind for more. You don't have any details of secret tracks or hiking courses that you'd like to share? Thanks for the comment Joshua. I'm living in the town of Fujiyoshida right at the foot of Mt. Fuji. There are many smaller mountains that offer great hiking and wonderful views of Fuji all over the area.
